Animals are in danger.
Aims: to revise the vocabulary of animals, to develop pupil,s reading, speaking and writing skills; to bring up pupils to take care of the animals (nature)
Visual aids: an interactive board, the basic textbook, tape recorder, pictures .
The procedure of the lesson:
I.Organization moment. A) a short conversation with the pupil on duty. talking about the weather (season, day and date)
II. Checking of the home work. Put questions to each other. (orally)
Do you plant trees?
How often do you plant trees?
What trees do you plant?
Are you a green person?
Do you like the green world?
III. Warming up. Today we are going to speak about animals. I,ll describe the animals, you try to guess what animal is being described.
- It,s green. It lives for 300 years, it,s very old. Now they live only in Africa and America. It can swim in the water and walk on land. It has a very big mouth and big teeth. (a crocodile)
- It,s very big and strong. It can live for 100 years.They work with people to help them. They live in Africa and India. (an elephant)
- It can swim in the water and walk on land. It wears a shell. It lives a long life, sometimes it can live for 300 or 400 years. It lays eggs. It can lay as many as 150 eggs, but it is very slow. (a tortoise)
- It,s a very big cat. (a tiger)
IV. Brainstorming. Children listen to me and answer my questions.

- What animals live on the Earth? How do we divide them?

You are right. Now listen the story. “ The lion and the mouse”.
One day a lion was sleeping in a forest. A mouse accidentally ran across the lion,s face and woke him up. The lion was very angry. He caught the mouse in his big paws and roared at him. “You woke me up!” he roared. “I should eat you!” “Oh please”, the mouse said, “do not eat me! If you let me go free,I promise that I will help you someday”. The King of Beasts began to laugh loudly. “How could such a small mouse help me?” the lion asked.”You are so weak and I am so strong!” The lion thought the idea was so funny that he let the mouse go free. A few days later, the lion accidentally walked into a net set by some hunters. Even though he was very strong, he could not get free. He was so upset that he began to roar loudly. “Help me! Someone Help me! ” he roared. The mouse heard the lion,s roar and ran to the place where the lion was caught. The mouse chewed through the net and soon the lion was free. “Thank you,” said the grateful lion. “I now know that in time of trouble, the weak can help the strong.”
After listening: Answer the following questions about the story.
Where did the lion live?
Who woke the lion up? What did the lion want to do to the mouse? What did the mouse promise the lion? Why did the lion let the mouse go free?
What problem did the lion have? How did the mouse help the lion? What did the lion learn?
Now, children how do you understand these words, “in time of trouble, the weak can help the strong?”
Do you think this is true? Would you rather be a mouse or a lion? Why?
VIII . Conclusion.
We all are strong in some ways and weak in others. Sometimes we can do things easily, but other times we need help. How can we help these animals? Is there the way to save them?
