The Procedure of the Lesson

І. Organization moment
- Good morning, dear children! You are looking great. Delighted to see you. How are you?
-Who is on duty today? Is anybody absent?

II. Brainstorming.
Teacher: Children! All of you have friends. So, let`s speak about friendship.
Have you friends? What is a friend?
Students: A friend is someone who always gives you help when you need it.
Teacher: You are right. Today we are going to describe our friends. Let`s take
the new words. Look at the slide. You see verbs, adjectives and their
opposites. Using these words we will learn to describe our friends`
character and appearance. So, the subject of our lesson is “Having
Friends.”
III. Presentation of the vocabulary

Shy- outgoing Helpful- unhelpful
Talkative – silent Patient - impatient

IV. Speaking. Pupils describe their friends using the adjectives and their opposites.

V. Practice.
a) Game: Chain of adjectives

Task: The 1st pupil describes his friend using one adjective, the 2nd pupil uses two adjectives, the 3rd pupil uses three adjectives and so on.
b) Matching the Kazakh word with the English.

c) Complete the sentence using the verbs:
A friend is someone who ………
d) Complete the semantic map: My Friend

VI. Additional information.
You know that there are different colours: red, blue, green, orange, etc. Everybody has her (his) favourite colour. According this colour one can know what kind of person he (she) is.

VII. Dialogue
Task: The teacher gives the pupils the cards with a word. Example:
The 1st pupil asks a question using the word.
The 2nd pupil answers the question.
The 3rd pupil informs the result.
For example: The word “rely on”
- Laura, do you rely on your friend?
- Yes, of course.
- Laura relies on her friend.
